Founded in 2005, Operation Calendar® produces beautiful calendars. The calendar is the brainchild of Italian model Manuela Mezzadri, who came up with the idea after conversations with veterans about the hardships that wounded veterans and their families can face when returning from the conflicts. 100% of the proceeds from calendar sales are donated to charitable organizations that help wounded veterans and their families.
Every day more young men and women in uniform return home from military conflicts with severe injuries. Since the beginning if the conflicts, approximately 6,000 of these brave warriors didn't make it back and more than 40,000 came back wounded. Many of the wounded require, not just a couple of days, but months and months of rehabilitation. This rehabilitation is physically, mentally and emotionally difficult and it is often financially debilitating for their families.
Manuela felt compelled to help and started Operation Calendar®. Operation Calendar® is a team effort and wouldn’t be possible without the support of many talented professionals. Most of Operation Calendar®’s artists and all the models volunteer their talent, energy, resources, and a tremendous amount of time to make the calendars a reality. Everyone involved with Operation Calendar® just wants to do their part to thank our troops for what they are doing for us by helping those whose lives have been turned upside down by serious injury.
Operation Calendar®’s PIN-UP calendars have also become a morale booster for our troops fighting overseas. We have sent hundreds of calendars overseas to deployed military and Operation Calendar®’s models have visited military bases and veterans’ hospitals in an effort to boost morale.
“Camouflage 2012” is Operation Calendar®’s 6th issue and 100% percent of this year’s proceeds benefit the Warrior Foundation and Freedom Station.
